How water softeners work

Water softeners protect your home and improve the quality of water by removing mineral deposits found naturally in water.

Take a look at how our Harvey TwinTec S3 Water Softener works
Water softener diagram
It's a simple process that works through ion exchange
Hard water enters your home through the supply and then flows in to the TwinTec water softener. Both cylinders are filled with resin that traps the calcium and magnesium hardness minerals in the untreated water allowing softened water to continue around the rest of your home.
Regeneration process
When one cylinder has reached its full capacity it will then shut off to do a quick cleaning process which takes only 11 minutes, but do not fear the second cylinder will still be serving your home so there is never a break in the system leaving you with soft water 24/7. That is the beauty of the twin cylinder design.

The whole process is powered by your own water pressure and does not need an electrical supply.
