New research by the University of Sheffield has revealed a link between
hard water and eczema. After a two year study scientists have proved that
softened water can greatly improve symptoms of eczema.
“By damaging the skin barrier, washing with hard water may contribute to the development of eczema.”
“Patients with eczema are much more sensitive to the effects of hard water than people with healthy skin.”
